Current coverage
2,111 company records in 28 countries and territories. 3,865 administrative regions, 47,643 districts / municipalities and 235,879 cities / localities.
This is a growing directory, not a complete register of the world’s companies. A country or place without records is a coverage gap, not evidence that no businesses exist there.
Real records are shown by default. Eight fictional examples remain available only through the separate demo filter.
Company data: Wikidata
Structured company statements are imported through the public API under CC0-1.0. Each profile retains its entity ID, revision, retrieval timestamp and original statements. Public-source status does not mean independent verification or current trading status.
Candidate companies are screened using direct organization types. Universities, government bodies, charities, people and ambiguous types are held out. Automated screening is imperfect; corrections require source review. Historical companies remain clearly labelled when dissolution is reported.
Websites and social profiles are included only when supplied in the source. Missing information is not invented. Links are not checked for ownership or availability.
Wikidata licensing ↗Geography: GeoNames
Administrative level 1 and 2 extracts and the cities500 dataset are used under CC BY 4.0, with attribution to GeoNames. The city dataset includes places above 500 population and administrative seats; it is not every settlement. Administrative names and boundaries can be incomplete or outdated.
Company headquarters are matched through GeoNames identifiers or an unambiguous name within the source country. Unmatched locations stay unmatched; they do not appear under a guessed region.

21 sectors and 88 subcategories map to ISIC Rev. 4. Company mappings based on source industry or type labels are marked as derived, not official registration codes. Ambiguous activities stay “Not yet classified.”

Alphabetical research and imports are tracked separately from company counts. “Partial” never means that every company in a country has been collected.

Only reviewed, reusable sources are imported. Public visibility is not permission to copy a database. No authentication, paywall, robots.txt rule or automation restriction is bypassed. Source restrictions and rate limits are respected. Further official registries require separate source approval.
